Destination Australia Cheung Kong Exchange Programme

This initiative enables Australian universities to offer short-term mobility scholarships for both outbound Australian students and inbound students from select Asian countries.

Mobility experiences under this programme range from two weeks to one semester and can include the following:

• Practicums or clinical placements
• In-country face-to-face language study

Australia Awards

The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) offers 1,551 long-term Australia Awards scholarships for the 2025 academic year to candidates from 55 partner countries. These scholarships are designed for students from developing nations to pursue studies, research, and professional development in Australia and beyond, ultimately contributing to their home countries’ growth and resilience.

The programme includes:

Australia Awards Scholarships: Full-time undergraduate or postgraduate study opportunities for citizens of participating countries at Australian institutions.
Australia Awards Pacific Scholarships: Scholarships for Pacific region residents to study at select institutions, focusing on development in their home countries.

Research Training Programme (RTP) Scholarships

The Australian Government funds eligible higher education providers through the RTP, supporting domestic and international students pursuing research doctorates or master’s degrees.

RTP scholarships may cover the following:

• Tuition fee waivers
• Living cost stipends
• Allowances for research-related expenses

Research master’s students can access RTP scholarships for up to two years (full-time) or four years (part-time). For 2025, the base stipend is AUD 33,511, with a maximum stipend of AUD 52,352. Further details are available on the Australian Education Department website.
